Founded in 2001, Catoctin Popcorn Company has been an integral part of the Western Maryland and Northern Virginia community with a rich history and an exciting future. Catoctin Popcorn Company has gained the reputation for outstanding and unique products and service and a commitment to customer satisfaction in the greater Catoctin region.  Our company runs three popcorn stands in Northern Virginia, the basis for our companies founding in 2001.  We started by just providing kettle corn fresh and hot on the side of the road.  Eventually, we began making other types of popcorn at our factory and taking it with us to the popcorn stands.  Our stands have a Farm Market flair and have included such diverse products at peanut brittle, preserves and fruit butters, salsa, relish and more.  The entry into farm market products brought us closer to the direct farm marketing community and we began to work with distributors who specialized in servicing the small farm markets, orchard stores, country stores, butcher shops and smokehouses in our region.  Our products have found a home with this market segment that fits well with what the clientele of these special markets are looking for.  Distinctly different and delicious, something they won't find in their every day shopping experience. 

About The Owners

Bryan and Jennifer Casey are the proud owners of the Catoctin Popcorn Company.  Mr. Casey, is the Popcorn Kernel, and manages all daily operations, while Mrs. Casey teaches for the Frederick County Public School System. Mr. Casey received is bachelors degree in Finance and Economics from Towson State University in 1990, and received is C.P.A. certification in 1994.  Mr. Casey has held senior financial and operations roles in the insurance, logistics and hospitality industries.  After obtaining an M.B.A. from the the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business, Mr. Casey purchased Catoctin Kettle Korn and Gift Company in 2007.  The Casey's reside with their children in Mr. Casey's childhood hometown of Middletown, Maryland.

Our goal is to expand on the great base of products that the company offers and distribute these products to our niche markets on a wholesale basis nationwide.   We will continue to develop wholesale products that compliment our specialty market and their business cycles.  Our target wholesale market includes:

HISTORY

Catoctin Popcorn Company was established in 2001 as Catoctin Kettle Korn. In the beginning, we were on roadsides and at local fairs. We’ve stirred up thousands of customers and kettles of our Famous Kettle Korn.

As the company's roadside business grew we developed recipes for Caramel, Classic Cheddar, White Cheddar, Peanut Butter Cluster and more.  We started making our now famous versions of Bavarian Style Cinnamon Roasted Almonds, Cashews, Pecans and Peanuts.  It wasn't long before farm markets who operated around our popcorn stands asked if we could sell our products to them for wholesale.  We decided to enter into the wholesale market, and found that they really worked well in these venues.  We found a few distributors for our wholesale products then a few more, and really began to grow a wholesale business to be proud of.
